On September 29, 2014, my latest novel, Mistress of Lies, will make its way into the world.

In this book, Isabel, Lady Wilde, must investigate the possible murder of her brother, Adam Barber, a renowned London goldsmith. Some of you might know that I was a professional goldsmith for a number of years, and though I’ve mostly given up the trade, the skills I learned will always stay with me.

To celebrate the upcoming release of Mistress of Lies, I’ll be featuring photos of my handmade jewelry through the month of September:

The piece pictured above is a teardrop London Topaz, bezel set in sterling silver. The bezel is handmade by me and strung on a machine-made box chain. I still have this necklace in my private jewelry collection and wear it often.
