In August, I “pre-hired” a freelance editor to edit my new novel. That means that for weeks now, I’ve been neglecting pretty much every other thing that needs doing. I sent the finished novel to my editor on October 22, took a much needed three-day weekend, and then started Monday fresh by writing out a post-deadline to-do list:

Clearly, I didn’t realize how many things had gotten away from me.

I have to admit, it feels so wonderful being off deadline for a few weeks, this list doesn’t feel daunting at all. I’m just glad I’ll be able to get away from my desk a few hours a day.
