The story behind “The Corn Nut Caper” is pretty simple. My husband and I were driving to Mammoth from Los Angeles and we’d brought a supply of snacks which included a couple of packs of Corn Nuts. I emptied some into my hand and thought they looked like teeth. After I came home from that ski trip, I wrote the story and Shotgun kindly accepted it for publication. It’s a few years old and yet it’s still one of my favorite stories I’ve ever written.
