Wreath When I was a kid, my siblings and I got an advent calendar every year. Beginning on December 1, we'd open a window every day until December 25th to find a little gift, a piece of candy, a coin, etc. It was a fun tradition that I find sadly lacking in my adult life.

This year, I'm taking steps to remedy that by celebrating the upcoming holiday season with a new type of advent calendar. That's right, it's an Advent Calendar of Books. Beginning December 1 I'll highlight a book or an author each day until Christmas, December 25.

I've been fortunate to read so many great books this year, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate the season than by inspiring others to buy and read books.

See you on December 1!

Hunger Games better be on that list, and Liar too! I would love to do a guest post, if you have room.

GREAT idea Holly! We love books and advent calendars too (but not the funky chocolate you’ll usually find.)
I’ll have to come up with a new family advent calendar this year.
