About Holly West I love making jewelry. And when you love something, don't you want to share it with the rest of the world? There is a sense of idealism--or is it optimism?--in my work. Peace is a central theme in my jewelry, though I also gravitate toward shapes found in nature and other organic forms that seem to take on a life of their own as I create them. I tend to make jewelry that is casual and comfortable, as this is the kind of jewelry I like to wear. I use a variety of techniques in my jewelry, including metalsmithing, which I have studied since 2001. Other techniques include beading, wire-wrapping, and sculpting PMC (precious metal clay). All of my jewelry is designed and handmade by me in my Los Angeles studio. |
